Lauren Spiteri: Top 10 Albums

GLASGOW BORN SINGER/SONGWRITER LAUREN SPITERI HAS SHARED HER TOP 10 ALBUMS WITH US AHEAD OF HER HEADLINE GIG AT KING TUT'S ON 27TH SEPTMEBER.

Rolling Stones - Exile on Mainstreet

I’m a huge Stones fan. It’s hard to pick my favourite album of theres but Exile in Mainstreet is the first record of the Stones that I really got into.

Stereophonics - Performance and cocktails

First album I ever bought. Think i was about 9 years old, Kelly’s lyrics are what made me start writing poetry. One of the best voices ever.

The Cure - Disintegration

One of the best albums of all time. Robert Smith is a god. I can really relate to his words . Fascination street is in my Top 5 songs of all time.

N*E*R*D - In search of

When this record dropped i hadn’t heard anything like it . It was that mix between hip hop and rock and roll. Huge album from my teenage years.

Cocteau Twins - Heaven or Las Vegas

Im obsessed with Elizabeth Frasers voice, so stunning.  Absolutely love the production on this record too.

Blur -  Blur

Again, another big album of my childhood. This album and Stereophonics performance and cocktails were probably the most played albums growing up.

Garbage - 2.0

Shirley Manson is a godess, I got the record as an easter present and I wanted to be just like Shirley. She’s the coolest .

Mazzy Star - So tonight that i might see

My Queen - Hope Sandavol. Everything she does is cool. I remember my step dad playing me this record and I instantly fell in love. It’s a record i always go back to.

Alanis Morrisette - Jagged Little Pill

Iconinc album of my generation. Again this album caught my interest lyrically more than anything, another album that inspired me to get into songwriting.  It’s helped me though a lot of times throughout my life.

Neil Young - Harvest Moon

My grandad got me into this record. It brings back memories from childhood. I still listen to it regularly from start to finish. You feel that mans pain through his voice and his words, his music really moves me.
