The Manic Street Preachers made their Scottish debut at Tut’s in 1991!
King Tut’s has a history of being very welcoming and every act who walks the famous King Tut’s stairs is treated with the same respect. One of the most famous stories about bands being welcomed to the venue comes from when Manic Street Preachers made their Scottish debut at Tut’s in 1991!
The group never forgot the hospitality. When the band went on to headline T in the Park in 1999 and gave a special mention Tut’s for being “the first venue to treat us properly and give us hot food on tour”
Manic Street Preachers then returned to Tut’s in 2010 for the 20th celebrations.
