BRITS 2020: Celeste wins Rising Star Award

A huge congratulations to Celeste who won the Rising Star Award at The Brits 2020.

What a year it has already been for Celeste. She has gone from winning BBC’s Music’s Sound of 2020, which is given to artists who are tipped for success to winning The Rising Star Award at the Brits on Tuesday night. She follows in the footsteps of the 'Hypersonic Missiles' singer, Sam Fender, the winner of the BRITs 2019 Rising Star Award, formerly known as the BRITs Critic Choice Award.

She was nominated alongside solo indie artist, Beabadoobee and jazz-influenced songwriter Joy Crookes.

The 25 year old, who grew up in Brighton started singing at around 15 years old after being inspired by hearing Elton John’s Your Song.

After winning the Rising Star Award, Celeste said “It’s a huge honour to be the recipient of the BRITs Rising Star Award 2020. Like many others, I grew up watching the BRITs and have been continually inspired by its nominees, winners and the performances. I hope to make the most of this incredible opportunity and I can’t wait to perform on The BRITs next year

Celeste performed 'Strange' to mark the occasion. The soul singer will play a SOLD OUT show at King Tut’s in April!
