For Triggerfinger, 2012 was supposed to be a quiet year however it turned out to be a different story for the Belgian rock band and 2013 is proving to be no different. Guitarist and vocalist Ruben Block, bassist Paul Van Bruystegem and drummer Mario Goossens are bringing their fiery rock to the UK for three dates in March.
Triggerfinger’s multi-dimensional sound, both live and on record, propelled the band to European success last year. They booked countless live dates including 14 festivals and recent support slots for Red Hot Chili Peppers, Within Temptation and Thin Lizzy on their UK tour. Not to mention that 2012 was also the year of the band’s first number one record. Triggerfinger are now bigger than ever.
The rock trio’s acoustic cover of Lykke Li’s ‘I Follow Rivers’ was originally aired in a live radio session. Within hours it created massive media hype in Belgium and Holland and was released as a single in April. The track stayed at number one for 9 weeks in Belgium, 13 weeks in Holland, as well as reaching number one in Austria and Poland, top 10 in Germany and top 20 in Switzerland.
In October they sold out London’s Camden Barfly and performed an energetic set to an audience of diehard fans. ‘At the end of the evening the floor was sticky, the crowd was sweaty, the band seemed happy. Triggerfinger was loud again but oh so damn fine!’ frontstagemusic.net
